For IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 25th, 2004 National Step Team wins First Place at LatinosStep's 6th Annual Summer Step Show View Stepshow Photos On Saturday, July 24, 2004, in quite possibly one of the greatest Latino Greek step shows ever, the National Step Team of La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc, (LUL) shocked the world by winning LatinosStep's 6th Annual Step Show held at Columbia University's Lerner Auditorium located in New York, NY. The Hermanos of La Unidad Latina put on one one of their best performances in recent memory. From the first few seconds they stepped with explosive vigor that startled everyone in the 1,400+ theater. LUL also showed unique transitions not seen in awhile and an old-school ripple formation, executed with crisp arm movements leaving the audience amazed. They truly shined at the show with an all around exceptional performance. "One of the best experiences of my life; I felt like the 1986 Mets after winning the world series. We definitely were underdogs, and many doubted us, simply because a lot of people felt that LUL had fallen off the step scene. We have resurfaced with strong team that contains a great array of talent and leadership; not to mention, a strong support from old school Hermanos who were part of the elite step teams from the '00-'02 years. We really wanted to prove to everyone that we can compete with the best, and put on a great step show, and that is exactly what we did. We plan on continuing a tradition, and step up the "flavas" of Latino stepping. We also want to congratulate all the other teams who did an exceptional job. Participants included the perennial power house Omega Delta Phi who went into the show having never lost at a LatinoGreeks.com or LatinosStep Show. Beta Kappa Psi and Lambda Sigma Upsilon also had very strong performances. La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity Inc., is an organization of over 1000 men who believe in the upliftment of the Latino community.
