The Nation’s Premier Latino Fraternity Celebrates 28 Years

Ithaca, NY — February, 2010

On February 19th, 2010 La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda, the Premier Latino Fraternity in the Nation, celebrates it’s 28th anniversary. Lambda Upsilon Lambda is the 1st Latino Fraternity to be chartered at an Ivy league institution. It was founded on February 19th, 1982 at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.

The Alpha Chapter at Cornell University will be commemorating this great anniversary by hosting their annual banquet, "Noche Dorada”, on Friday the 19th. Noche Dorada is an annual tradition within the fraternity around the nation and one that has become the most anticipated event of Cornell’s Latino community. This gallant affair will boast the finest of Latino cuisine, a live DJ, performances from various cultures from around the world and an inspirational keynote speaker, Mr. Ivan Sanchez, chosen to motivate and enrich all in attendance.

The Hermanos of the Alpha Chapter will also be awarding the "Elite Emmys,” recognizing different Cornell students, faculty and groups for their accomplishments. Noche Dorada will be attended by many Cornell students, faculty and brothers from various chapters far and near.

The Noche Dorada banquet will be followed by social festivities also hosted by the Hermanos of Alpha Chapter.
