La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Incorporated, has worked diligently within the campus community and the Capital District Community to develop and implement programs. This past year their efforts have entailed: Participating and Raising funds for the American Heart Walk; Participating in the Albany U-Kids day-care in storytelling and reading children's books; Volunteering for the Albany
Chamber of Commerce 100 year celebration in the RACC; Volunteering with Centro Civico to provide gifts and activities for under-priviledged children in the Capital District; Creating the First Glance program for at risk youth who are interested in Higher Education; Participating in the Latch Key program at the New York State Museum; and Organizing the Banquet for the Somos El Futuro Conference. Lambda has without a doubt gone beyond the boundaries of our University to touch the hearts and lives of others. With that in mind they are awarded the PULA for Outstanding Community Service as an Organization.
