La Unidad Latina is looking for leaders that are interested in joining our eternal brotherhood. Our Hermandad spans 15 states and 70 colleges and Universities across the country. One of the distinctions of our organization, is being the only Latino Fraternity to have chapters established at all 8 Ivy League Universities

La Unidad Latina is committed to developing its members and peers into mature, intelligent, socially active, and culturally conscious individuals, who, via mutual support, can excel academically and professionally. La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Incorporated is looking for individuals with vision, determination, pride, and a commitment to accomplish the goals it has set for itself.

La Unidad Latina was established on February 19, 1982 at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Incorporated primarily seeks to take a leadership role in meeting the needs of the Latino community through cultural awareness, community service, and promotion of the Latino culture and people.

New Membership:

Our Hermandad, or Brotherhood, is a lifelong commitment to the fraternity. The motto of our Hermandad, "La Unidad Para Siempre," or "Our Unity is Forever," exemplifies our devotion to the ethics and goals of La Unidad Latina. We will only consider those individuals who have demonstrated strong qualities within the realms of their academic and personal life. We seek individuals with a sincere intent to make not only themselves, but the people that suround them greater.

Sincere intent concerning this commitment and sacrifice is requested of new membership.

Commitment is more than simply words. Commitment means the ability to dedicate oneself to the goals of an organization, advancement of community, supporting our people and community members alike. Commitments we foster include a professionalism, development of business skills, cultivating leadership, and search for intellectual enlightenment. We expect our members to be committed.

Sacrifice means putting those distinct qualities of commitment into a lifelong practice, to champion the ideals of La Unidad Latina. Our members devote time and effort to enhance the ideals of the Fraternity at their respective universities and postgraduate lives. We expect our members to sacrifice.

A person seeking membership to satisfy personal agendas is not worthy of initiation. Anyone who holds himself above the Hermandad of La Unidad Latina is not worthy of this honor.

La Unidad Latina has never had interest in the mere amassing of members and chapters. Evident in our rigorous initiation process, the emphasis, however, is in the quality and distinction of its candidates. Those not willing to sacrifice a considerably short period of time now, in return for a lifetime of brotherhood, need not apply.
