[ ABOUT NU CHAPTER ]

The Nu Chapter of La Unidad Latina was founded on March 5, 1994 in Cambridge, MA by six Hermanos from Harvard University. Since, Nu Chapter has welcomed Hermanos from Massachussetts Institute of Technology, Tufts University, and Boston College. While the composition of Nu Chapter has changed over the years, what remains is a devotion to the two things that initially drove it's members to seek out La Unidad Latina: COMMUNITY and BROTHERHOOD.

Since it's inception, Nu Chapter has played an active role in helping to address the many needs of the Latino communities, both in the Cambridge and Boston areas and on our respective campuses. Our Hermanos participate in a variety of Community Service projects, ranging from high school mentoring programs in Cambridge to efforts to increase Latino-voter registration in Boston. We also contribute to the enhancement of the college experience of both the Latino and general student populations on our respective campuses by coordinating events that focus on and raise awareness of our shared cultures and experiences.

Finally, the Nu Chapter functions socially in a unique and positive manner by providing an atmosphere in which each Hermano can be himself and relate to others who share similar backgrounds and experiences. Most importantly, in creating a feeling of familia, every Hermano has a place which he can truly call home, a place where he will be respected and supported. In doing so, we, as do all the chapters of La Unidad Latina, redefine the concept of Brotherhood.
