The
Washington, DC-Metropolitan Area chapter of La Unidad Latina
was founded in 1997. The initial motivation to establish a
chapter began when the founding Hermanos from the University
of Maryland, College Park (Phi
Chapter) graduated and started their professional
careers in the area. Meetings were set up at the time to discuss
establishing a Graduate chapter to help the Latino community
at the alumni level. At the time, La Unidad Latina only had
alumni chapters in New York, Buffalo, Philadelphia, and Rhode
Island.
As Alumni Hermanos, we strive to achieve the goals of the
Fraternity in the corporate and professional realm. By maintaining
the strong bond and dedication of our Hermandad, we continue
to serve the community. A great deal of our time and focus
is given to working with undergraduate Hermanos in the area.
Providing guidance and advice, as older Hermanos we are able
to provide insight and experiences that often comes with age.
