La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Incorporated is a private, non-partisan, non-profit fraternal organization designed to unite men of profound vision, education, caliber, integrity and inexorable zeal for service. Our esteemed brotherhood extends throughout the United States, encompassing in excess of 66 prominent undergraduate academic institutions and 13 polestar alumni/graduate entities in most major American cities.

La Unidad Latina maintains firm convictions in its recruitment and development of an inclusive, academically inclined diverse membership. We are resolute to affect change in all communities in order to defy the injustices of society, meanwhile propagating all affluent cultures. We are:

  • 1st Latino Fraternity to be chartered at an Ivy League Institution.
  • La Unidad Latina is a Latino-based, multi-ethnic, non profit community service organization with an extremely diverse and rich membership.
  • Fraternal Chapters from Coast to Coast, with a stronghold on the Eastern shoreline.
  • Only Latino Fraternity with chapters at all 8 Ivy League Institutions.
  • Chapters at 6 out of the Top 10 Universities, according to U.S. News and World Report's 2004 Best Colleges and Universities Edition.
  • Chapters at 16 out of the Top 50 Universities, according to U.S. News and World Report's 2004 Best Colleges and Universities Edition.
  • La Unidad Latina has been instrumental in helping the Hispanic Federation raise funds for various disaster efforts (phonathons, volunteers), which totaled over $1.3 million. La Unidad Latina has raised about $7000 from our own efforts as individuals and chapters in past efforts.
  • National Philanthropy: The La Unidad Latina Foundation has risen over $10,000 for minority scholarships.
  • Recognized nationally by former First Lady, Senator Hillary Clinton and the former White House administration for our continual leadership and community service efforts.

Does La Unidad Latina have a sister sorority?

No. Although we have strong historic ties to some organizations, we are not constitutionally or otherwise affiliated with any other organization. La Unidad Latina is a non partisan organization, however it has a great deal of respect and admiration for all sororities regardless of Panhellenic affiliation. We continuously strive to work in conjunction with an array of organizations in order to affect a greater change.

How do you become an Hermano?

There are three ways in which someone can become an Hermano:
· The undergraduate leadership development process.
· The graduate/professional leadership development process.
· Selection to become an Honorary Hermano
How long is the Leadership Development Process?
The length and duration of the Leadership Development Process varies upon several factors. The chapters of origin and pledge classes are the prominent determinants of the actual process. Do you haze?

We do not physically abuse or degrade our Caballeros. Although our process is extremely challenging, we do not believe brotherhood can be built upon a foundation of humiliation and degradation. Furthermore, La Fraternidad has anti-hazing policies which adhere to even the strictest anti-hazing laws. Please view our anti-hazing policy for further details.
